Happy Tax Day- kidding!! Actually, our leaves are now almost all back… and Charlotte is beautiful once again. A long winter is over! New Nascar Hall of Fame on the left will open later this year.
Charlotte and Charlotte Homes Update
UNCC broke ground on a historic new building in Uptown Charlotte- the University’s first intown presence in 50 years. At 9th and brevard in the 4th Ward, it will be a new anchor on the north east side of Charlotte. A centerpiece of a planned 22 acre mixed use “urban village” the new Cener City Building will revialize this edge of town in the First Ward.
Classes here? From the UNCC web page: “Upon completion in 2011, the Center City Building will offer several of the University’s graduate-level programs, including the Belk College of Business MBA and the new MBA in Sports Marketing and Management. The university’s School of Architecture’s new Master of Urban Design will also be based there.” More Details
CMS Superintendent Pete Gorman to Mecklenburg County- enough is enough, no more cuts.
After cutting 534 non-teaching jobs, Gorman is pre-empting the expected County Request for more cuts. Where art thou Stimulus Funding?
Spring Listing Season has begun as Homes for Sale jump!
There were 5138 New Lisiting in the last 30 days, with a median price of $330,000. There were 1442 Homes Sold with a median price of $192,000.
GMAC chose 440 South Church Street in Uptown where they will consolidate their 3 offices, and add 200 net jobs, doubling their regional presence here. Average pay of the new jobs? $96,000– a good catch for Charlotte.
