Charlotte Hornets Welcome Vonleh and Hairston in 2014 NBA Draft
2014 NBA Draft
Last night the Charlotte Hornets added two new all-star basketball players to their roster with the no. 9 pick and no. 26 pick. The two players are Noah Vonleh, a power forward for Indiana, and P.J. Hairston, a former UNC-CH shooting guard.
Noah Vonleh was a great no. 9 pick for the Hornets as he was projected to go as high as no. 4 or 5. Vonleh played only one college season at Indiana, but with a 7-foot-5 wingspan he is more than ready for the NBA. Vonleh will join his fellow Indiana alumni, Cody Zeller, on the Hornets roster.
Hairston was a popular pick for Charlotte Hornets fans because he is a N.C. native from Greensboro, N.C. and started for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Hornets grabbed Hairston with the 26th overall pick traded from the Miami Heat. Hairston worked out with The Hornets twice and is very familiar with the Charlotte area.
