Southpark in South Charlotte- Community Information and Homes for Sale
Bank of America is downtown, (we call it Uptown) as are most of the corporate headquarters but…
Southpark Charlotte NC is in many ways Charlotte’s downtown

SouthPark is the 4th largest business district in the state, the largest shopping district, home to the most expensive subdivisions… the best restaurants are here, the Harris YMCA and more. South Park (not the correctly spelled in 2 words) is now over 30 years old, and has grown considerably the last 5 years with the addition of Neiman Marcus,  Nordstrom’s and a host of new condos. Thumbnails are from the Southpark area, more Southpark photos here.
Southpark was once a subdivision and a mall- today it is a region, or area all by itself.
It’s bordered roughly by Park Ave to the west, Runnymede to the north, Arbor/Carmel to the East, and Seven Eagles to the south. Because of the multiple zip codes involved, I had to separate our searches as you see below. Each search takes to another map with the listings so you can see where they are in comparison to the amenities in Southpark. As always, I am happy to create a customize a search for you delivered to your email. Â
The houses represent subdivisions, restaurants are the knifes and forks- all the best are here. Ruth Chris, Del Frisco, Morton’s and more. Here are your Southpark homes searches:

The condo market has been especially strong in the past 2 years with many exciting options. Philips Place has a terrific restaurants, a wine bar, Dean and Deluca, theater and shops. And the new 2 story, very large, Barnes and Nobles at Morrison Place in Southpark is the latest addition.
It is an exciting place to live full of life. Call me at 704-351-1519. Or sign up through the Southpark home searches above.

Spring Break Fun In Charlotte
April 7th, 2010 categories: Things To Do Charlotte
Cane Creek Park Waxhaw
Do you need a good day trip? Children home from school looking a little bored? Or even an afternoon? Cane Creek is about 15 minutes south of Waxhaw, making it easily accessible for an afternoon trip from Union County or South Charlotte- leave a little more time if you are coming from the north… but if you have children acting like they’ve been cooped up, looking a bit crazed from being indoors, you’ll find it worth the drive.
(From personal experience!)
Cane Creek State park, in southern Union County is the perfect day tip- or long afternoon. The northern side of the lake is for day use, the southern side is for overnight/camping. Directions
Cane Creek was packed Easter Sunday afternoon. A beautiful day to be outside, families were barbecuing, fishing, playing beach volleyball, horseback riding, and jus having a good time. There is plenty of shade, and covered shelters for picnics. Canoes are available, a small climbing wall, snack bar (hours?),and shaded playgrounds for the little guys and girls. The lake had a few boats out on it, but mostly it was shore fun that caught my eye.
Call 704-843-3919 for Park hours, there is a $4.00 vehicle entry fee , swimming and miniature golf opens Memorial Day Weekend.

Amelies| A Force in NODA, In Charlotte
March 15th, 2010 categories: About Charlotte, Things To Do Charlotte
Amelie’s has taken on a life of it’s own… the French bakery located at 28th street and North Davidson,
is on the edge of NODA and has taken the city by storm. Is it the 24 hour service? Their free Wi-Fi? The eclectic surroundings? The wonderful food, the thoughtful staff?
I’ve written about Amelies before, the 28th Row condos, and over the weekend the Charlotte Observer published a long article – in the old days this would mean the kiss of death, but the fans of Amelies are exceptionally loyaly and will likely weather the storm. may need to add another 10 employees…
Go for the coffee, the soup or a pastry… but go.
