August is now in full swing and the weather is cooling off! As usual, Charlotte has many fun events for this weekend wether it’s rain or shine. From family events to brewery races, check out everything the Queen City has to offer.

Aug 17

Enjoy a fresh brew while donating to charity! For only $15 The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is hosting the annual Copper Classic. Upon registration you will receive entry to the 1000 yard dash, a Copper Classic T-shirt, a pint of beer, live music and a donation to the charity. The registration will start at 10 am and live music will last until 4 pm. This is a great opportunity to check out the OMB property for a good cause!

Wild In The Water | Aug 17

Here is another great opportunity for a family event at the Charlotte Nature Museum! From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. There will be tons of fun activities for kids. The event will include exploring aquatic habitats and animals. The Carolina Fly Fish Club will also be there to help teach how to fish and other tips and tricks to catching aquatic animals. There will be plenty of activities and crafts for the kids to learn about aquatic animals and habitats.

US National Whitewater Center CharlotteMicrobrews Cruise |
Aug 16

The U.S. National Whitewater Center will be having another great event this weekend! The Microbrews Cruise will feature a cruise beginning with a guided flatwater paddle along the Catawba River. After the cruise, guests will receive a wonderful meal accompanied with features from select craft breweries. Enjoy this fun-filled event for $55 per person starting at 6 p.m.

Living History Saturday | Aug 17

The Historic Latta Plantation will be having their Living History event this weekend with a special twist. This weekend will have a World War II theme and will be played out with soldiers reenacting the battles. The event will also help guests learn about the war. This event will be a great opportunity for you and your family to learn about our historic past!
