Ballantyne Community
Most folks considering a move to Charlotte have heard of Ballantyne. Once out in the “country,” Charlottes favorite ring city (think Tyson Corners VA 25 years ago) is strategically located at the intersection of Johnston Road and Interstate 485. At the center is the Ballantyne Village shopping center, surrounded by Ballantyne Country Club, and Ballantyne Corporate Center.
The five-star Ballantyne Hotel overlooks the 18 hole golf course. Major corporations “live” here, Lending Tree, SPX, Brightstar Financial, and many regional offices such as TIAA, ESPN, and others. About 15,000 people work here, behind only Uptown, Southpark and the University area. While the country club serves a more affluent home owner, the surround area is full of high quality schools and more affordable housing for the more than 25000 people who live in the broader area surrounding Ballantyne.
It is a relatively compact area you will find top flight medicine, some of Charlottes finest restaurants, and just about everything you need for daily living. Is your child interested in sports? He or she will have multiple choices, from the YMCA to club options. Music, dance- it is all here.
