We are so lucky to live close to South End where there are so awesome restaurants, and even more keep popping up weekly. From the best BBQ, Tapas, Wine Bars to top notch Mexican, we have it all!
One of our all time favorite date nights is starting at Dilworth Tasting Room for a glass of wine. The charm, brick walls and adorable back patio makes you feel like you are in a wine bar in the West Village of NYC. They have an extensive wine list, amazing cocktails and small plates to share – what a win!
Up next, dinner!
Lately, we have challenged ourselves to try new places so we have been venturing out of our normal comfort zone – and have been SO impressed. Here are some of our recent favorites.
- Barcelona Wine Bar – “The cuisine is clean and rustic, with tapas shaped by Mediterranean, Spanish, and South American influences. Nearly 400 wines are featured on the wine list.” Tapas, my favorite!! We went here opening week and I am DYING to go back. Everything we ordered was so delicious. Usually my husband isn’t a tapas fan, saying he isn’t ever full. That was not the case here, we both left stuffed!
- Superica – located right next door to Barcelona, you can’t go wrong with any meal or marg at Superica. Great tex-mex with a cool vibe.
- Mac’s Speed Shop – sit outside, grab some BBQ and enjoy the evening. We love to bring guests here as well to fill their ‘southern bbq’ needs.
- 300 East – the best french onion soup in all of charlotte. Love the ambience. A two floor restaurant, situated in a renovated old house.
After two years in the area, we still feel like there are SO many restaurants we have yet to try! We are going to continue to challenge ourselves to keep trying new spots!
