Our First Two Years…

Our first two years have involved quite a bit of experimenting.

We have searched for all of our go to stores, restaurants, yoga studios and so much more.  It’s never easy finding your groove in a new area – so I will help you out!

Here are some of our go to spots!

Grocery shopping…

any and all of your favorites are here in Charlotte, and close by!  Who doesn’t LOVE Trader Joe’s?  There is a Trader Joe’s conveniently located in the Metropolitan.  One of my tricks is to go straight up to level two or even three of the parking garage, it is SO much easier than dealing with the first floor zoo.  I am also a huge Whole Foods fan, which we are ten minutes from TWO locations. The SouthPark location, and the new Uptown location.  What a win!

One of my ultimate favorite spots to shop is the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market – it is AMAZING.  It is open Tuesday – Saturday, with Saturday being a MUST. I frequently go during the week for some staples, but Saturday is incredible.  On Saturdays they have every fruit and vegetable you can think of, along with SO many other things (bread, dessert, wine etc). They even have the most beautiful fresh flowers ever!

Quick Eats!

With a new baby, crazy schedules and everything else involved, we are always looking for healthy, quick, fresh grab and go lunch and dinner options.  We have SO countless options, even walking distance from our home!  The Park Rd Shopping Center has endless amazing options!  A few of our go-to favorites are Chop’t, CAVA and Viva Chicken.

Sometimes you need to live a little… so for pizza night, Inizio is a MUST!  More and more awesome spots keep popping up, and we continue to try them all!

Fitness Classes

One of the best things I did when moving here, was join ClassPass.  ClassPass gave me the ability to jump around and try ALL the studios conveniently located.  It is a monthly membership, which studios are a part of, and you simply log into the app, and book your classes directly through ClassPass at any of the participating studios.   I tried all the pilates, spin and yoga studios imaginable and found my favorites quickly!  Who doesn’t love FlyWheel?  Or CorePower Yoga?  And endless awesome local studios, Yoga One, Be Yoga, Carolina Barre & Core – all less than 5 mins away!

Happy shopping, eating and working out!

So everybody’s heard that Atlanta calls itself the “capitol” of the New South. Ok, I’ll give them that. But if Atlanta is the “capitol”, then Charlotte is the heart of the New South. Charlotte is the 20th largest city
