Providence Plantation, just off Providence Road south of Rt 51, is one of Charlotte’s largest, and longtime favorite, neighborhoods.
It started in the 1970s- you can find large rambling older homes with 2+ acres, to homes that are either brand new or recently finished, generally all on .5 acre or more. It is about 90% custom, and 10% national builders like Toll Brothers. The rear entrance takes a traveler to downtown Matthews in 5 minutes. Tree lined streets bely the name Plantation, most lots are quite wooded, and it is hilly too. Check out the variety of homes, no cookie cutters here.
