What’s At Crowders Mountain?

Crowders Mountain is a great spot to enjoy the cool mountain air while hiking, camping or rock climbing! The State Park is the second highest point in Gaston County and provides views of landscapes for up to 25 miles. The park has many miles of trails to explore valleys, foothills and mountain peaks that overlook the rolling hills of the N.C. Piedmont landscape. Crowders Mountain is also a wonderful place to appreciate nature from the raptors soaring in the wind to the vegetation reaching toward the sky.

There are also educational activities developed for grades 5 – 7 that are designed to correlate with the N.C. education curriculum. For the visitors searching for thrills, the park offers rock climbing and  bouldering. There is also a wooded lake near the park that has canoes available for rent for padding or fishing. Camping, hiking and picnicking spots are available throughout the park.

Crowders Mountain is located at 522 Park Office Lane in Kings Mountain, N.C. Park officials can be reached at 704-853-5375 or crowders.mountain@ncparks.gov.
